Hi visitor!  We are Gordon and Terri.  We live in rural Kansas near Tonganoxie.  I [Gordon] received my Eagle Scout award when I was growing up in Topeka, Kansas.  My wife and I have worked with youth for well over forty years.  Recently we became involved with the local Cub Scout Pack in Tonganoxie.  We were aghast at the cost of being a Scout.  Dues, book cost, and a uniform for a new Scout is close to $300.  If you have a family of two or three children looking to be in scouts, the price of admission is almost cost prohibitive.

We wanted to create an opportunity to overcome this barrier to entrance into the world of scouting.  I truly enjoyed my years as a scout and wanted to provide this same opportunity to as many local boys and girls as were interested.  My daughter and her husband run a green house and sell mums to local groups as fund raisers.  We thought this would work for our local pack so we started investigating.

I found a lot of information on the web, but the information was disjointed and not well organized.  Certainly not that someone could start up their own fund raising venture by just going to one website.

I had the opportunity to attend Wood Badge in 2023.  If you are in scouting, take the opportunity to attend this valuable and informative training.  A truly wonderful experience.  Part of that training involves ‘working your ticket’. This is a project requirement to complete the Wood Badge training.  My ticket is this website.  I am to build a one-stop location that any Scouting unit could use as a starting point to grow mums as a fund-raiser.  Not everyone wants to take on this commitment so I also added a section where I would provide mums to local units for a reasonable fee so they could earn money to pay for their scouting costs.  In our first year of growing, all of the Scouts in our unit were able to pay for their annual dues and books.  Next year we are looking to cover dues, books, and uniforms.
